3 Questions to Ask a Real Estate Agent

The right real estate agent can make your home buying or selling process painless and lucrative. In this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show: Love Your Home, Marcia Bergen shares three questions you should ask your real estate agent before hiring them for a job.

Marcia: Today we’re going to be discussing the three questions that you should ask an agent before hiring them to be your realtor. The first one is what is their marketing plan? What is involved with preparing your home for the market and where will your home be exposed both in print online and on the MLS. These are all important items when you’re considering selling your home. The second question that I think is super important is, is there a better time of year to sell your home? If you’re moving out of province or you’re making a lateral move within the same city, it may be less important, but there are definitely better times of the year to sell your home than others. The third question that I would ask an agent prior to listing your home with them is what are the things that you should consider when you’re pricing your home? What is your current competition looking like? What are the things to consider based on time of year. And also, what is happening in your specific neighborhood? These things factor into pricing your home properly on the market.
