5 Ways to Maximize Your Kitchen Space
When you look at your kitchen, what do you see? Do you see a place to create a fabulous meal or are you instantly overwhelmed the overflowing cupboards and cluttered counter tops? Whether your kitchen is small or large, there is always a way to maximize your space.
Add a Shelf: If you have an island, install shelves on one or both ends of the island. You can add a create deal of extra storage while using up very little space or budget.
Less is more: When you have a small kitchen, all the really necessary items you use daily really need to be within reach. Shelves can take tools and even some kitchen art. Just be sure NOT to over crowd the shelves or it defeats the purpose of less is more.
Use Wall Space Wisely: For example, that rack you found at a garage sale 2 years ago could be the perfect storage space for opened bottles of oils and vinegar’s, freeing up cupboard space for other items.
Get Creative: Some kitchens have what they call toe kick drawers. These are great for flat cooking sheets and other items that don’t require much height.
Burner Covers: Lots of people have burner covers in their kitchens. Some have them to keep from burning themselves while others use them to pretty up the kitchen. Have a local handyman or carpenter build you a raised cutting board. You can go either two or four burner size. This sits over the elements when the stove is not in using, turning the stove top into additional counter space when the stove is not in use!
