Creating a Versatile Holiday Outfit
The holidays tend to be chock-full of festive engagements, some of which require dressing up. If dressing up is simply not your cup of tea, keep reading for some expert advice re: holiday party wear. Fashion blogger, Jackie Silla, shares her expert tips on putting together a holiday look that can easily transition into any season.
Jackie’s Outfit Essentials:
- A slip dress
- A statement, faux-fur jacket
- Booties or heels
Occasion Wear:
That’s right, the ’90s slip dress trend is back, and we’re not upset about it! Not only are slip dresses comfortable and flattering for a variety of body types, but they’re also extremely versatile, and can be worn in any season. For a compliment-worthy holiday party look, Silla pairs a satin-finish slip dress with a faux-fur coat, and sock booties. This combo definitely makes a statement, and the individual pieces can be dressed down for casual wear in other seasons.
Everyday Wear:
As wintertime transitions into spring, and/or summertime transitions into fall, the faux-fur jacket can be worn over a basic tee and jeans for a causal, every-day look. The same goes for the slip dress, which can be dressed down with a long knit sweater during the fall and spring, or underneath of a tee during the summer. Wear the slip dress solo, and pair it with sandals for an easy-breezy summer look.
