Easy Braided Hair Looks You Can Do At Home
Every season, some type of braided hair style tends to be in style – and for good reason! Braids are cute, easy to wear, and oftentimes, are a lot simpler to pull off that you may initially think. In this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show, Tazeen Khan, of Fresh Face Makeup and Hair, shows us how to pull of two easy braids for summer.
Braided Look # 1: Fishtail Braid
First things first, pull the hair into a low ponytail, and then divide the ponytail into two equal sections. Next, separate a half-inch section of hair from the outside of the left ponytail and pull it across over to the right ponytail, taking caution not to twist the hair. Repeat this step using a half-inch section of hair from the right ponytail, pulling it across to the left ponytail. Repeat these steps until you reach the end of the hair and secure it with an elastic. At this point, you can remove the first elastic, or leave it in.
Braided Look # 2: Classic French Braid
Unlike the fishtail, a french braid uses three sections of the hair, starting with the top-most hair. Begin by liberating three equal sections of hair from the crown of the head. Once you’ve involved all three sections of the braid, start adding sections of hair from the side. With each pleat, you should be adding in an equal section of hair. Repeat these steps until your reach the bottom of the hair and secure with an elastic.
TIP: Applying leave-in conditioner to the hair prior to braiding will leave the hair with soft, frizz-free beachy waves after the braids are taken out.
Thanks! I’ve always wondered how to do a French braid.
