DIY Devil Baby in a Cage Halloween Decor
No Halloween is complete without some super creepy decorations. In this special Halloween edition of The Marc and Mandy Show, Mandy shows viewers how to create a spooky Devil Baby in a Cage decor piece. Keep reading for the step-by-step instructions.
What you’ll need: two laundry baskets, spray paint, box cutter, black duct tape, creepy doll, knife, old t-shirt, permanent markers, fake crow, chains
Step 1: Paint
To jump start this DIY, spray paint your laundry baskets so that they are entirely black, inside and out. Once the paint is dried, use a boxcutter to cut the lips (the uppermost rims) off the basket. Cutting off the rims will ensure the baskets sit flush on top of each other.
Step 2: Doll
You can fill your basket “cage” with anything you like. For this DIY, Mandy has opted for a creepy baby, but you can also substitute with skeletons, skulls, or even a scary pumpkin. If you’re opting for a creepy doll use anything from markers and paint to an old t-shirt to make it look as on-theme as possible.
Step 3: Tape
Use black duct tape to seal off the raw edges of the baskets. After you’ve sealed off the edges, stack the baskets on top of each other so that they form a cage, and use the black duct tape to bind the baskets together.
Step 4: Embellish
Finally, use the remainder of your craft supplies to embellish your basket “cage” in any way you see fit. Dress it up with chains, fasten a scary crow to it, or add some dry ice for dramatic effect. Happy Halloween!
