Delectable Puffed Rice Salad
Today on The Marc and Mandy Show, Chef Sachit Mehra, of East India Co. Pub & Eatery, shows Mandy how to make a delicious and easy puffed rice salad. This segment is brought to you by Cuisinart.
What you’ll need: puffed rice, boiled potato (finely chopped), onion, jalapeno mint chutney, lemon juice, tamarind sauce, green bell pepper, sevia noodles, cilantro
Step 1: Sift
First, sift through your puff rice to separate out any dust or irregular pieces. Then empty your puffed rice into a large bowl.
Step 2: Chop
Next, chop up your boiled potato into small cubes. You can also dice up your onions at this stage, if you haven’t already. Empty the potato into the bowl as well, followed by onion.
Step 3: Chutney
Chutneys are typically sweet or spicy. For this rendition, combine jalapeno, mint, and lemon juice into a small bowl and mix. You now have your chutney. Empty your chutney into the large bowl, followed by some tangy, tart tamarind sauce and green bell peppers. Mix the bowl well.
Step 4: Garnish
Garnish with sevia noodles and cilantro. Then plate and enjoy!
