Pro Q&A: Furnace Air Filter Replacement
In this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show: Expert Q&A, Bobby Watt from Watt HVAC talks about the different options for furnace filter replacements.
Q: What kind of filter replacement options are there for my furnace?
Bobby Watt: When choosing your filter for your air conditioner or heating system, there are three main groups of filters to consider. The first type is a fibreglass filter. This filter is good for large particles and is your cheapest option. This filter is used in places where indoor air quality is not your biggest concern. The second filter is a poly-filter or a medium filter. This filter is good for medium particles and it’s good for most applications. The third is a high-efficiency pleated filter. This one is good for for fine particle, such as dust, pollen, and pet hair. This is used when your indoor air quality is of the utmost importance. Whichever filter you pick, just make sure you change it on a regular basis and you’ll keep your equipment running clean and smoothly for years to come.
