Off Grid Power Systems

On this episode of The Marc and Mandy Show, Mandy chats with Jason Osadac from Westrock Battery Ltd about the benefits and set ups of off grid power systems.

Mandy: Hey everyone, I’m here with Jason from Westrock Battery Ltd and we are talking off-the-grid power systems. So solar power, it’s one of those things that’s so unique. What are some of the benefits of doing this for your off-site location?

Jason: Well, if you have a cottage or an RV or even an ice fishing shack, you can have power just like you have at home. Charge your cell phones, charge your tablets, run your coffee pot, your toaster, your microwave, run the gaming systems for the kids. Basically, have all the power you have at home out in the woods or out on the lake. Wherever you may go, you get all the benefits of power but don’t have to pay a monthly bill. 

Mandy: Are these systems portable or are they permanent?

Jason: There are small systems that you can get for if you’re camping or something and you just want a little bit of power, but the systems we sell are designed to be permanently installed on the roof, on the wall, on the ground, but fixed to your cottage or RV. And they’re there for the duration. 

Mandy: Now, is this generally a large investment 

Jason: There’s a range certainly. It starts for a smaller cabin or RV around five hundred dollars. A popular price point is just under five thousand dollars where you can run a refrigerator full time, all your lights, your TVs, all the typical household appliances for a family of four to six. It can get higher than that for a big place if you have a large cottage or something, but there’s something for every budget.
