Beach Vibe Bedroom

In this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show: Explore Decor, Stephanie Charest shows how to design a beach-themed bedroom.

Marc: If you’re wanting to redo your bedroom, you’ve come to the right place. And I’m so excited because Stephanie Charest from Stephanie Charest Interior Design has created an amazing beach vibe look using furniture pieces from Signature Fine Furniture. So, talk to me about what is, what was the inspiration behind the design concept?

Stephanie: We wanted to create a space that felt almost as if it had a vacation vibe and felt really serene and relaxing. With people spending more time in their own homes, we really wanted to create a space that felt like an escape and felt really coastal. And that was really the inspiration. 

Marc: The bed and the dresser from Signature Fine Furniture-can you talk about what drew you to these pieces?

Stephanie: We loved the wood tones and we liked the really clean lines. It felt like it could really go on any style of home. 

Marc: Talk about the color scheme?

Stephanie: So, we wanted the blues just because again it was a coastal vibe, oceany, something that really felt relaxing. And blue is a really calming color. And so, it’s a great way to bring in that serenity and create a space that just feels relaxing.

Marc: So, Stephanie, I have kids, you have kids. As parents, we understand that basically, we give everything to everyone else and then we come last. So when it comes to designing a home, we almost do the same thing right? Like we’re literally putting money in every other room in the house and then what happens in the bedroom?

Stephanie: We often hear that from people, that they want to have their master bedroom redesigned but with the other things they have on their list it always gets eliminated. So we’re happy when people go forward with that because it’s so important for parents especially to have a space that’s just their own a really beautiful completed space that they can escape to.
