Adding a Sunroom to a Small Space
Are you thinking about adding a sunroom to your property? Today on The Marc and Mandy Show, Matt Jacewicz of Four Seasons Sunrooms shows a gorgeous sunroom and explains how to build it in a small space.
Small Extension
This one may seem obvious, but if you’re dealing with a small space, you should probably consider a small sunroom extension as well. To get the effect of a much larger sunroom, consider a creative element. Think: opening your sunroom up to the rest of your home, so you can really make use of the natural light the sunroom affords you.
Sloping Roofline
The challenges sometimes with smaller properties is that there may be limitations or design challenges to consider, particularly as it pertains to moving water away from the structure and away from your neighbors. A sloping roofline is a great design element to consider if you’re worried about water accumulation.
TIP Another thing to take into consideration is glass allowances: how much glass you can and cannot have. When you’re really close to other properties, you have to be really mindful of fire codes and creating that fire separation, so ensure you or your contractor has found out about fire safety regulations well before building your sunroom addition. Also, make sure you ask for tempered glass, which strengthens the glass to minimize the potential for accidental breakage.

I appreciate you stating that so you can fully benefit from the natural light the sunroom provides by opening it up to the rest of your house. My mom’s renovating her house and is thinking of having a sunroom installation so I will make her read this article first. I just wish she chooses WeatherMaster Window Systems because it seems like a wise choice for this kind of home addition.
Phew! It was such a relief to learn from this article that a tiny expansion can be created should we wish to establish a sunroom within a small house’s interior space. My high school friend has a holiday house east of Winnipeg and she wonders if it’s possible to add a sunroom next to its living room. In my opinion, calling a contractor is what she has to do beforehand so the final installation would be great.
I appreciate you saying that so you may open up the sunroom to the rest of your house and take full use of the natural light it offers. I’ll have my mother read this article first as she is remodeling her home and considering installing a sunroom. It would be nice if she went with Weather Master Window Systems because it seems like a sensible option for this sort of house expansion.
