Track Your Cycles
Women with regular cycles ovulate about two weeks before the arrival of their periods. To increase your chances at conceiving, it’s important to not only track your menstrual cycle, but to track your ovulation cycle and your fertile window. (The fertile window is the five days prior to ovulation and the day of it.)
Maintain Healthy BMI
Being underweight or overweight can both reduce a woman’s chances at conceiving. As such, it’s important to maintain a healthy BMI by eating and exercising properly and regularly.
Taking Prenatal Vitamins
Contrary to common belief, prenatal vitamins are not just reserved for those who are already pregnant. Taking prenatal vitamins (or a daily multivitamin containing folic acid) prior to pregnancy can aid in early brain development in the fetus.
Eat Healthy
Eating healthy foods, rich in calcium, protein, and iron will prepare a woman’s body for pregnancy. Think: a variety of fruits and vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, dairy, and healthy sources of fat.
