Color Correction Tips
If you suffer from redness, blotchiness, uneven skin, or all of the above, this expert step-by-step is for you! Professional makeup artist, Amanda De Roy, shares her expert-level tips on how to color correct … well, correctly.
What you’ll need:
- green color corrector
- yellow or orange color corrector
- flesh colored concealer and foundation
Step 1: Green Color Corrector
Green appears opposite from red on the color wheel, so naturally, it’s the best color to use to cancels out and camouflage any redness or rosiness on the skin. For best results, ensure you are applying in an ‘X’ motion to avoid a streaky effect.
Step 2: Yellow or Orange Color Corrector
If you have a fair complexion, yellow color corrector is great for camouflaging darkness under the eyes; if your complexion is on the darker side, orange should do the trick. Keep in mind, the under the eye area is a sensitive area, so you want to treat it with gentleness and tenderness
Step 3: Flesh Colored Concealer and Foundation
Finish off the look using a flesh toned concealer and foundation. From here, you can carry on with your regularly scheduled makeup routine. Happy primping!
