Creating Space for Kids & Adults Room
You may a room in your home reserved for adults only, but do you have the same for your children? In this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show, celebrity designer, Ami McKay talks about the importance of creating space just for kids and space just for adults. While touring a recent project, Ami shows us how to “have the best of both worlds.”
Just for Kids:
A “just for kids” space should incorporate three elements: entertainment, space, and comfort. Your kids should be able to move around comfortably, without worrying about damaging delicate fixtures in the home. Ami’s kid-designated space includes a TV, video games, a table for arts and crafts, lots of comfy blankets and pillows, and colorful cabinetry.
Just for Adults:
Ami’s “adult domain” features a different set of comforts, including a door with a lock, appealing wall art, comfortable seating, and adjustable lighting. But that’s not all. The space also includes a dry bar, refrigerator, beverage center, and a fully-stocked wine storage.
