Get Tested
Even if you’re fairly certain that your allergies are as a result of certain animals, the only way to know for sure is to get tested. Allergies also tend to be cumulative, so if you’re allergic to pet dander, you might also be allergic to dust or grass. Getting tested will help you to deal with your specific brand of allergies more effectively.
Invest in an Air Filtration System
If you already have a furry friend in tow, setting up an air filtration system in your home could help mitigate the symptoms of allergies. In this same vein, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming frequently will likely lessen the frequency of allergens.
Bath Your Pet Frequently
Bathing your pet once a week is an effective way to mitigate the allergens that are causing pesky symptoms. If you have a cat, brushing them as frequently as once a day could be helpful.
Consider Immunotherapy Shots
Allergy (immunotherapy) shots can help to relieve the symptoms of allergies for a lengthy period of time—though they won’t cure the allergies.
