In this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show, Marc talks with Ken Tompkins from Sunspace Sunrooms about their outdoor deck roof systems. Keep reading for the highlights of their interview.
Marc:You have a deck in your backyard, but you can’t use it because of weather conditions. What’s the solution?
Ken Tompkins:Well, the best solution is to get you out of the sun, so you can better enjoy the space!
M: That’s right! There’s no fun in burning. Mandy has very fair skin and she burns all the time, so this might be perfect for us!
KT:I understand that perfectly, Marc. And what we do is we create this great system that allows us to have no UV, a much lower heat level (we reduce the heat by 75 percent). It makes all the sense in the world! Our customers get to put nice furniture in, they get to relax in it, it becomes a space they want to live in.
M: And what’s great about it, guys, is that if it’s raining, you can still go and enjoy the space, right?
KT: You can still occupy it.
M: Yeah, that’s right! Because Ken, there’s nothing worse than going on the deck, you sit on a chair, it rained earlier, and all of a sudden your pants are all wet, right?
KT: You couldn’t be more right, Marc. And realistically, when you think about it, it becomes a space that you want to live in. And we find that once we set our system up, everybody comes back and says, “We really should have done this sooner.”
