Desserts for the Holiday
One of the best parts about holiday season is the sweet treats, ranging from cookies to cake to hot cocoa. On this episode of The Marc and Mandy Show, Mandy and Marc share an assortment of desserts for the holiday. To check out Marc and Mandy’s selection of mouth watering desserts, check out the video above, or keep reading for some health-conscious tips for eating your favorite holiday treats and dishes.
Opt for homemade rather than processed
While there’s no doubt about the appeal of store-bought treats, they are more often than not packed with preservatives that give them a longer shelf life. To be sure about what’s going into your food and that it’s healthy to eat, opt to make your own treats.
Practice moderation
It can tough during the holiday season to moderate your intake of food, especially when it seems to be everywhere and everyone else is eating to their heart’s content. To avoid the post-holiday guilt and weight gain, try your best to try a little of everything, but try your best to avoid overindulging.
Eat slower
Sometimes we tend to eat with our eyes, meaning that we eat what looks good, even if we’re no longer hungry. By eating slower, you give your stomach a chance to catch up and get full, before you reach that over-eating stage.
Get some exercise in
This could be as simple as an after meal walk or as calculated as an every-morning workout. This way, you can eat the foods you love without the guilt.
