Easy Chocolate Truffles You Can Make
No matter the occasion, (or even if there’s no occasion at all), truffles make for an amazing gift that anyone would be delighted to receive. To boot, they’re not as hard to make as you might think. In this sweet segment, Lesli Ann Legaspi, of The Goodies Bakeshop, shows Marc how to make a delicious chocolate truffle treat, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
What you’ll need: cream cheese, chocolate cookie crumbs, melted chocolate, candy sprinkles, mixing bowl, whisk, ice cream scoop, baking pan, baking sheets
Step 1: Mix
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and chocolate cookie crumbs. Put this on a slow mix, to avoid making a mess. Mix the cream cheese and the cookie crumbs together for a minute, or until they take on a dough-like consistency. Once you’ve removed your mixing bowl from the mixer, use a spatula to remove as much of the cream cheese and cookie crumbs from the whisk as possible.
Step 2: Shape
Next, use a small ice cream scoop to form small spheres of the cream cheese and cookie crumbs mixture. You can use your hands to shape the spheres if you desire. Lay the spheres out on a baking pan lined with a baking sheet.
Step 3: Freeze
Once you’ve formed your truffles, simply pop them into the freezer. Let them chill overnight.
Step 4: Melted Chocolate
Right before serving, melt some chocolate and dip your frozen truffles into the chocolate, one at a time. Transfer the chocolate covered truffles onto another tray or plate, and decorate with sprinkles or cookie crumbs as desired. For added wow-factor, drizzle chocolate syrup lightly over top of your truffles, which will create a cool design.
