Expert Q&A: Front Door Update
In this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show: Expert Q&A, Kyle Gette from Everwood Custom Woodworking gives expert answers to questions about updating the front door.
Q: What’s an easy way to update the look of my home without doing a major renovation?
Kyle Gette: One of the easiest ways to update your home is by changing your front door. Your front entry is the first and last impression that people get when they come to your home. It sets the tone for the rest of the home and is a great place to make people feel warm and welcome. With both stock and completely custom doors, we can help you find a door that suits your style
Q: When changing my front door, do I also need to replace my siding, trim, paint around my door and flooring?
Kyle Gette: Actually no, because Everwood is a custom door manufacturer. We can handcraft a door and trim to meet your existing opening, we’ll even take into consideration special requirements that we can use to fit into your existing siding, flooring, and even have custom trim to cover your old paint lines.
Q: Do I need to hire a contractor to remove the door and install a new one?
Kyle Gette: Great question actually. Everwood is a full service company, so we’ll take care of the whole process. All you got to do is give us some measurements of your existing door and a couple photos. From there, we can develop a quote, we can choose from one of our stock doors, or we can take a photo from an inspiration of yours. With this, we’ll develop a quote and once it’s accepted we’ll come to the site to measure and to take into any special considerations needed. Once the door is manufactured, we will come remove the old door, dispose of it, and install the new one all in less than a day. We even try and donate the doors that are gently used to Habitat for Humanity to help save them from the landfill.
