Q: What should I look for when hiring a painting contractor?
Kurt Welch: When hiring a contractor—whether it be a paint contractor, or even a general contractor for that matter—one of the main things to keep in mind, in this day and age, is online presence. You want to hire a painting contractor with good online presence, to ensure that they will not be here today and not gone tomorrow. Another major thing: insurance, insurance, insurance! In your area, contractors need to have insurance to make sure that you and they are both protected. Other than that, you want to make sure to look at references, in addition to pictures, videos, and other proof that the contractor is reputable, reliable, and does good work. Finally, make sure your contractor has a proper contract in place, which ensures you will be properly protected.
