Q: How can I impress buyers and sell my home faster?
Scott McGillivray: If you want to sell your home quickly, you need to stage it properly. And I mean both the interior and the exterior. Curb appeal has a huge impact when it comes to buyers. If they don’t like what it looks like from the outside, they may not even walk through the door.
Q: What day of the week is the best time to go house shopping?
Scott McGillivray: If you want to be able to purchase a property and you want a bit of a competitive advantage, I would suggest shopping on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, because typically offers that go in on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays are accepting for less than offers than go in on a weekend. So, stay away from the competition, shop for real estate early in the week.
Q: How many homes should I look at before buying one?
Scott McGillivray: Go and see as many homes as possible before you make your purchase. I mean, you know, you don’t want to just be a shopper your whole life, you’ve got to start putting in offers, but there really is too many to go see. Just go see as many as you can.
