What is aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy involves using essential oils for therapeutic benefit. Oils can be inhaled or be absorbed in the skin to provide a variety of benefits to the mind and body. Essential oils should never be ingested and should be diluted when using with ingredients such as olive, jojoba, or coconut oil.
What can aromatherapy help to treat?
Aromatherapy can be used in tandem with other treatments to soothe sore joints, treat headaches and migraines, treat the symptoms of chemotherapy, and fight bacteria, virus, or fungus. Aromatherapy has also been linked to stress relief and improved sleep quality. Different essential oils can be used treat different ailments. For example, lavender oil can help to reduce stress and anxiety and promote better sleep. Meanwhile peppermint oil can be used to treat migraines and can soothe a sore stomach.
