Turn off your phone
Especially if you’re planning a home spa day with your partner, making sure you’re not interrupted by email notifications and phone calls is key.
Set the mood
To better set the mood, consider lighting some candles in your favorite soothing scents. Aromatherapy has been known to lower stress levels, in addition to setting the ideal mood for romance. Another element that contributes to mood is music, so you can consider playing something relaxing off of Youtube.
Mix up some detox water
One simple touch you tend to see at spas is detox water. To create your own, simply steep things like cucumber slices, lemon slices, and mint leaves in cold water. If you’d prefer something sweeter, consider steeping fruit, such as strawberries and orange slices, instead.
Don’t forget the steam
To make sure you get the most out of whatever treatments suit your skin, consider a DIY facial steam. Once the steam has opened your pores, you can follow up with your skin treatment of choice, be that a cleanser, mask, or exfoliate.
