From Home Office to Guest Bedroom
Just because you’re short on space in your home, doesn’t mean you can’t entertain friends and family. In this episode of The Marc and Mandy Show, Jackie Glass of Jacqueline Glass & Associates has some great tips to share with you by taking a regular den and turning it into a beautiful guest bedroom.
Turn your sofa into a bed
If you have a sofa bed in your den, then you’re already halfway there. Take some time to outfit your sofa bed with a nice sheet set. And don’t forget the decorative pillows and matching comforter!
Hotel-esque touches
Some other details that will make your guest bedroom complete are things like chocolates or mints on the pillows and bottles of water and drinking glasses on the bedsides. Take it one step further by setting up a serving tray, complete with some necessities, such as towels, toothpaste, soaps, and deodorant.
Elevate your guests’ experience
You can also consider having some magazines or other reading materials (such as maps of the area) artfully scattered over a bedside table, desk, or any other tabletop. These touches can serve to elevate the overall look of the room, as well as the overall experience for your guests.
Storage
Make sure you have plenty of ample storage in your room for guests to tuck away their belongings. If you’re low on space, you can use storage cubes, which can be stacked.
Breakfast station
If you’re hosting early risers, you might want to consider setting up a small breakfast station for them in the room (if you have the available space) or in the kitchen or dining area. Include things like a percolator, teas, and coffees.
