How to Decorate a Drip Cake
If you’re hoping to wow your guest, but your artistic skills are limited, look no further than this easy, but stunning drip cake dessert. Linda Peters of Goodies Bake Shop shows Marc the ins and outs of decorating a drip cake.
Step 1: Create the Sauce
In this tutorial, Linda is using a raspberry sauce. She recommends opting for a seedless sauce and thinning down the sauce with a little bit of water. Transfer the sauce into a squeeze bottle of some kind for ease of application.
Step 2: Apply the Sauce
You can then distribute the sauce in a thin layer to the top of your cake, using a flat-edge utensil to smooth the sauce until even.
Step 3: Apply the Drips
To achieve the drip effect, apply small dollops of sauce to the edges of the top of cake, with equal space between each dollop. Where you’ve applied each dollop, gravity should cause the sauce should now drip down the side of the cake.
Step 4: Glaze
To finish your decedent drip cake off, top it off with some glaze. Apply the glaze to the top of the cake and use a flat-edge utensil to smooth it until even.
Step 5: Decorate
Now that you’ve got the basics for your drip cake done, you can take creative liberties with whipping cream, strawberries, biscuits, or really any treats of your choosing.
