Q: Should I design my kitchen based on my taste or for a potential buyer?
Chris Palmer: When I get into designing kitchens with clients, I always like to say, “What do you want?” Because I’m not living in your kitchen, so when I design a kitchen, it’s always going to based on what the client needs. The wants are secondary in my opinion, because we want to go for the needs of the kitchen, the functionality, and the usage, because—as I always say—form follows function.
