Kitchen Renovation Makeover
Kitchen renovations outrank all other household renos for return on investment. On this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show, Stephen Dixon shows the renos done for a kitchen’s makeover.
Stephen Dixon: Hey Marc and Mandy, I’m showing you a totally new kitchen design starting with the large format porcelain tiles on the ground. They have very small grout lines so it gives it that seamless look and it pops. It looks like wow. Part of our renovation of this kitchen was to remove bulkheads with fluorescent lights and smooth the ceiling, putting in pot lights and finishing it off with crown molding throughout. Of course, when you do a kitchen renovation, you want new cabinets, and so we have hardwood cabinets with crown molding and espresso finish. The hardwood cabinets are wood veneer; maple on the outside with plywood on the inside so it’s very strong. And it has an espresso finish with quartz countertop and chocolate veins on the inside. Part of the renovation was to make the kitchen larger. We opened up the doorway to make more light come in. We extended this section of cabinets. We added an island, we increased the work surface with the countertop, we changed the work triangle, we moved the stove to the outside wall along with the gas supply, and allow for it to be more efficient. Aand then we added this range hood for good effect along with the stainless steel backsplash. And so, two persons can work in here with ease. And so the family just loves it. There you have it Marc and Mandy, a full kitchen renovation. Hope this will inspire you and your viewers to renovate their kitchens too.
