LED Lights Explained

In this episode of The Marc and Mandy Show, Lara Borys explains to Mandy how LED lights can save you money and create a room atmosphere. 

Mandy: Everyone these days is talking about LED lights, but what does it really mean? I have a Lara from Living Lighting here to give us the ins and outs of it. So, let’s get right into it, what is the big difference between an LED light and your standard bulb?

Lara: So, an LED light is going to use a lot less energy and therefore it’s going to last a lot longer. 

Mandy: And I imagine with less energy, your electrical bill will go down a bit won’t it? 

Lara: Exactly, it’s going to go down quite significantly. 

Mandy: Now, I know a lot of people associate LED light with kind of that blue hue to a light. Are there different variants in the type of lighting it gives off?

Lara: There’s a wide range of color temperatures coming out of the LED bulbs. Now there’s a kelvin scale that they measured the color temperature on. The lower you are the warmer and more yellow it is. The higher on the scale you go the whiter and bluish that it gets. A lot of residential homeowners go for sort of in the middle.
