Marc: I’m here with Dave from University Sprinklers and he’s here to talk to us about low maintenance yards.
David Pfortmueller: Irrigation systems are one of those things that actually gives you back time. So, for all the landscaping and the beautiful scenery you have in your yard, one less thing you have to do is drag hoses around. Irrigation systems can water all your plants, gardens, vegetables, hanging baskets, pots, and completely take care of your yard so you have more time to enjoy your backyard.
Marc: They’re almost like smart irrigation systems right?
David Pfortmueller: Yes, there’s smart irrigation controllers. Smart irrigation controllers can not only be controlled by your phone but they can also talk to the internet and understand what the weather.
Marc: Is so that they can adjust the irrigation controller automatically as the season changes?
David Pfortmueller: So, as it gets warmer in the summer and hotter during the days, your irrigation system is watering more towards the end of the season it waters less.
Marc: And what about lighting? I find in landscape design it’s very important to light it properly.
David Pfortmueller: Landscape lighting is really my passion and our company loves the fact that we can take a landscape that you have in your yard and we can light it up in the night. Landscape lighting systems have come a long way. There are now fabulous components, such as LED lights that are nice and warm and cast a fabulous glow and really take your landscape that you’ve invested so much time and effort into and bring it alive at night.
