How To Make a Tipsy Dolphin Cocktail
If you’re looking for a fast and effective way to upgrade a party, look no further than this Tipsy Dolphin Cocktail. In this segment, Marc and Mandy share their step-by-step instructions for recreating this tasty, tropical-themed cocktail.
What you’ll need: 1 oz vodka, 1 oz white rum, raspberry lemonade, cranberry cocktail, ice, ginger ale, pineapple wedges, cocktail glass, shot glasses (for measuring)
Step 1: Alcoholic Ingredients
In a cocktail glass, combine 1 ounce of vodka and 1 ounce white rum. TIP You can use a shot glass to roughly measure out an ounce. Standard shot glasses can hold approximately 1.5 ounces of liquid, so 2/3 of a shot should equate to 1 ounce.
Step 2: Non-Alcoholic Ingredients
Next up, the kid-friendly mix-ins. Add raspberry lemonade to your vodka and white rum combo; stop pouring once your cocktail glass is about half full. Following the lemonade, add the cranberry cocktail into the mix, until your glass is about 3/4 full.
Step 3: Cold Ingredients
At this point, your cocktail will be a vibrant ruby color. Add in about four spoonfuls of ice to cool down the cocktail, followed by ginger ale. Stop adding ginger ale once your cocktail glass is nearly full.
Step 4: Wait
This step is arguably the most important step, because this is the stage where you’ll see your cocktail come to fruition. After letting your drink sit for a minute or two, you should start to see your juices separate in the glass, creating a gradient effect. Do not mix it.
Step 5: Garnish
This is where you can take a bit of creative liberty. Garnish your Tipsy Dolphin Cocktail in any way you see fit, utilizing slices of orange, lemon, pineapple, or maraschino cherries. For a truly tropical look, top off your drink with a mini cocktail umbrella.
