Modern Custom Kitchen Design Tour
When it comes to kitchen renovation, there are a myriad of options, trends, and styles to choose from. In this segment of the Marc and Mandy Show, renovator and builder Dave Jurinic of Toronto Custom Concepts gives us a taste of a modern, custom kitchen with fabulous features and a stunning space for entertaining to boot!

According to our expert, Dave, these particular clients requested a modern style kitchen. This style choice narrows down design choices considerably. Modern style kitchens tend to have clean lines, minimalistic color use, and practical layout.
Kitchen Features
The clients opted for a solid white kitchen, slab doors, with built-in appliances. The fridge and the exhaust hoods, for instance, blend in completely with the sleek, white cabinetry. The backsplash is also congruent with the minimalistic theme. It’s made up of large format tiles and very little grout, which gives it a clean and unobtrusive look. Practically speaking, tiling with lesser grout could mean that your backsplash will look cleaner for longer, since the grout tends to be the area which accumulates dirt and stains. This kitchen also happens to be great for entertaining. It includes a large kitchen island, complete with pendant lights over top.
Dining Area Features
The clients also requested an eat-in kitchen in addition to an open concept floor plan. With some structural engineering, Dave and his team were able to do just that. While the open concept floor plan is now plain, there is still something of a visual divide between the all white kitchen and the eat-in dining area, which features a stained dark wood dining table.
