Lawn games and other outdoor games are a great way to keep everyone entertained while at the cottage. Some ideas include bocce ball, table tennis, soccer balls, and footballs. For the evening time, consider bringing along a poker set, especially if you’re traveling with adults. 

Waterproof Equipment

If you’re planning to do water sports, such as kayaking or canoeing, waterproof gear is essential. Consider investing in items like waterproof backpacks, a dry case for your phone, and a dry case for your important items, such as keys, cash, and credit cards.

Personal Products

Sunscreen and bug spray are two essentials at the cottage. Keep in mind that these items have a best-before date, so even if you think you have some laying around at the cottage already, you might want to bring backups, in case your cottage stock is expired or used up.

Cleaning Supplies

Don’t forget to factor in cleanup when planning for your cottage weekend. Make sure you pack cleaning essentials such as paper towels, sponges, dish detergent, garbage bags, laundry detergent, and hand soap.
