Renovating Your Kitchen with Paint

A fresh coat of paint can instantly update and upgrade a tired space. In this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show, Mandy chats with Elsinore Blas with Splash of Charm with the Lionsgate Design Collective about updating a kitchen with a new paint job.

Mandy: When it comes to renovating your kitchen, do you rip everything out or there are some other options? I have Elsinore with Splash of Charm with the Lionsgate Design Collective and she’s going to share some ideas. Tell me a little bit about why somebody should paint their kitchen instead of ripping it apart?

Elsinore Blas: People would want to go this route because it’s the most cost effective solution. People want change and I think painting your cabinets is something simple and cost-effective for such a major transformation and least disruptive. 

Mandy: Now, talk to me a little bit about current trends you’re seeing when it comes to kitchen painting?

Elsinore Blas: I’m seeing a lot of people wanting white on the top and some sort of dark color on the bottom. And they’re having a lot of fun with it down to the knobs and the handles. It’s either rose gold, brush nickels, crystals. I think people can have fun with it and it’s affordable. Again, it goes back to money.

Mandy: And you also help people learn how to paint their own cupboards as well don’t you?

Elsinore Blas: For the people that would like to save a little bit more money and are a little bit more handier I take people through the cabinet transformation course and we do it together.
