You may not be able to teach an old dog new tricks, but when it comes to home decor, old rooms and brand new decor can easily go hand-in-hand. Today on The Marc and Mandy Show, Karla Dreyer teams up with BoConcept to show viewers how to refresh an existing room.
Room Refresh Tip # 1: Invest in a Versatile Piece
The show-stopping in this room is definitely the couch. This particular model is called the Amsterdam corner unit and it is modular, meaning it can reconfigured to fit in a lot of different spaces and sizes
Room Refresh Tip # 2: Warm Things Up With a Textured Rug
Next up: the rug. With a leather couch, Karla recommends the surrounding decor be on the warm side. One way to do that is via a textured rug. In this space, Karla has included a plush, cream colored textured rug that has brown running through it. The brown helps to tie the couch to the rug and the plushy texture helps to soften the look of the leather.
Room Refresh Tip # 3: Double Up Your Coffee Tables
To lend some more visual intrigue to the space, Karla has opted for two coffee tables, which happen to be different heights. These particular units have cement bases and smoked glass tops.
