Top Three Landscaping Considerations
In this segment of Ask The Expert Stephen Peacock of M.E. Contracting shares the three most important things to consider when planning a landscaping project. Keep reading for the Q & A.
Q: What are some essential elements of landscaping?
A: I’d say the three most important things in landscaping would be water management, base preparation, and your fit and finish. Without proper water management, you risk seriously damaging the property, and without a good base preparation, your product is not going to last as long as it theoretically could. When it comes to fit and finish – (for example, the products that you use, the materials, the colors, and the finishings) – quality is important because it will ensure longevity, style-wise.
Q: What’s the advantage of hiring an outdoor contractor?
A: The benefits of using an outdoor contractor is their experience and your peace of mind. Someone with proper experience will know what the expect and how to execute your project the right way the first time. You want to use somebody who has been in the business for many years, who has been around the work, and has experience from start to finish of the project. Hiring a contractor should give you peace of mind that the finished result is what you imagined for your project. Outdoor contractors should be able to help you with everything from material selection to weather-proofing to technical aspects, such as obtaining permits.
