Turn Your Potato Skins into Potato Skin Chips
If your go-to snack happens to be chips, you might enjoy this delicious alternative using leftover potato skins. Food exert Irene Ngo, from Hello Fresh, shares her step-by-step instructions on creating this tasty snack, and mitigating food waste while she’s at it!
Step 1: Peel
First things first, wash your potatoes using warm water and a scrubbing brush to reduce dirt and bacteria. Then, using a potato peeler or vegetable skinner of some sort, peel long strips of skin off of your potatoes and put them aside.
Step 2: Oil
Next, line an oven-safe pan with aluminum foil, and place your strips flat on the pan. Drizzle olive oil over top of your skins so that they’ll turn out nice and crispy.
Step 3: Season
The seasoning for this recipe is sweet and simple: sprinkle salt and pepper over top of your skins, and use your fingers to rub the oil, salt, and pepper all over the skins.
Step 4: Bake
Next, pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees Celsius and pop your skins in once the oven is nice and hot. Roast your skins for about ten to 12 minutes or until the skins are nice and crispy. Give them a few minutes to cool off, before enjoying them plain, with dipping sauce, or as a garnish for soups and salads.
