Unicorn Hot Chocolate Recipe
Lend some multi-color to your winter blues, with this fun twist on ordinary hot chocolate. No matter what age you are, this Unicorn Hot Chocolate concoction promises to be a decadent (and unique) treat!
What you’ll need: milk, white chocolate wafers, icing, candy sprinkles, whipping cream, marshmallows, food coloring, mason jar or glass mug
Step 1: Heat The Milk
Using low heat, warm up milk on the stovetop. Once the milk is warm, add in white chocolate wafers, and stir continuously. Once the wafers have melted completely into the milk, turn the heat element off to avoid burning the milk.
Step 2: Decorate The Mug
Using a mason jar or a glass mug as your base, apply icing of your desired color to the rim of your container. Then, dip the iced portion of your jar into candy sprinkles. The sprinkles should stick the icing without making much mess.
Step 3: Transfer Your Milk
Next, use a ladle to transfer your milk and wafer combo into your mason jar or glass mug. This step promises to be a messy one, so ensure you are pouring slowly, and overtop of the original pot or dish of some kind, to mitigate spills or burns. To give your white hot chocolate a bit of color, simply add a drop of red food coloring.
Step 4: Top It Off
Top off your Unicorn Hot Chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows, and drizzled icing. TIP If you’re using icing from a tube or can, its thick consistency might make it difficult to drizzle. If that’s the case, simply add a few drops of water to a small portion of icing until it’s a more manageable consistency.
