Unique DIY Night Lights
Is your little one scared of the dark? Fortunately, there’s a very simple solution to that: a nightlight. In this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show, DIY expert Anita Recksiedler shows Marc how to create a few simple, DIY night lights for your kids’ room.
What you’ll need: glass jars, glue, paintbrush, glitter, battery-operated tea light
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
In the weeks leading up this DIY project, accumulate glass jars. Ensure they are washed properly in the dishwasher. For this project, you will also need glue, a paintbrush, glitter, and a battery-operated tea light.
Step 2: Paint Your Jar
Using a paintbrush, apply glue to the interior of the jar. TIP Coat the jar in glue quickly to ensure the glue doesn’t dry before you have a chance to add the glitter.
Step 3: Add The Glitter
Next, pour some glitter into the jar, fasten the lid on the jar, and give it a good shake. Shaking should distribute the glitter evenly the interior sides of the jar. Then, remove the lid, and empty the extra glitter out.
Step 4: Add The Light
Once the glue has dried completely, you can place the battery-operated tea light onto the open face of the lid, switch on the light, and then place the upside-down jar on top. Repeat the steps to recreate the nightlight in a range of different colors.
