Q: How does a four season sunroom add legitimate value to my house?
Matt Jacewicz: Excellent question! A four season sunroom adds legitimate value because of what you end up getting. If you’re building a seasonal room or a greenhouse or something like that, generally, those aren’t considered part of the living space. So, say you have an average room of 2,000 square feet and you add a 200 square foot greenhouse or seasonal room at the back, you still have a 2,000 square foot home. Now, if that room was a year-round true-addition sunroom or solarium addition, which you can use 365 days a year, that 2,000 square foot home becomes a 2,200 square foot home. So, when you’re talking about value and usability and marketing your home, you’re working with a lot more value, usability, and marketability with a sunroom or solarium addition than without.
