West Coast Spa Bathroom Tour
Are you in need of some bathroom design inspo? Celebrity designer Kim Bartley joins renovations expert Hussain Khatheer of Vancouver General Contractors for a tour of a recent project. In this segment, they take a look at a gorgeous spa bathroom with a West-Coast-feel and an amazing use of space. Keep reading for their Q & A.
Q: What was the design vision for this home?
A: When we first started working with the client, we had an idea that we wanted a beautiful home. Beyond that, we didn’t really want it to look like every other home on the block.
Q: Talk to me about a few of the exquisite details in the bathroom?
A: I feel that the spa-feel of this bathroom came together really, really well. With this bathroom, it was a little tricky to put together the overall design, just because it’s a bit of a smaller space, so we really had to think the design through really carefully. As a result, every square inch of this bathroom has a functional purpose. The first thing we wanted to focus on was the stand-alone tub. We also wanted double sinks – which is a must-have for any bathroom – as well as ample storage space. Storage is important in any room of the house, but its especially useful in the bathroom. And finally, a gorgeous walk-in shower was a must for this project, as it really lends the entire bathroom a spa-feel. In keeping with the spa-feel, we used a lot of neutral colors throughout.
