Apartment Hunting Checklist
There are ample things to consider when you’re hunting for a new apartment. The big ones tend to be what you’ll be paying for rent and the terms of your lease, but in the excitement of finding a place you love and slapping down a deposit before it gets taken by another zealous apartment-hunter, you may overlook other important details. To ensure that you’ve covered all your bases, before you put a pen to the legalese, prepare a checklist of sorts ahead of time.
Location; (proximity to grocery stores, transit, outside noise, et cetera)
Pet allowances
Parking and extra fees associated with it
Availability of laundry
Utilities cost
Number and placement of outlets; (and don’t forget to test the outlets beforehand)
Water pressure and temperature
Appliances that come with the apartment
Cost effective appliances
Cable and internet hookups and availability
The availability of air conditioning
Decorating restrictions
Building security and safety
Building amenities and extra fees associated with them
