Designer Glen Peloso finds a gorgeous Blanco farm front sink for your kitchen!
One of the most instrumental elements of your kitchen, is the kitchen sink. And kitchen sinks have come a long way in recent years, diversifying from traditional models, and morphing into style-conscious statement pieces, in addition to maintaining their utilitarian role. Keep reading for a couple trendy sink models.
Farm-fronted sinks
Farmhouse sinks have garnered popularity in recent years especially, due to their durability and user-friendliness. A distinctive feature of the farmhouse sink is its deep basin, which is flush to the counter edge. Many farmhouse sinks now come in a SILGRANIT finish, which is almost indestructible, unlike traditional porcelain models. Farmhouse sinks come in a variety of colors, ranging from sophisticated grey, to fun pastels, to dramatic black, if so desired.
Under-mount sinks
As its name suggests, the under-mount sink is characterized by below-the-counter installation, which allows for easy cleaning. Types of counter tops that can accommodate this style are granite, marble, composite, and enameled cast iron.
Integrated Sinks
Another option, which allows for easy cleanup, is the integrated sink, which is when the sink is manufactured directly into the counter top. The integrated sink is a growing sink trend due to its user friendly and sleek, contemporary design.
Unconventional Materials
If you’re looking for something unconventional, or perhaps environmentally conscious, consider a bamboo sink design. Bamboo sinks have an elegant look and are durable, so long as they are treated with binding adhesives and a water-resistant topcoat.
