Creating a Professional Eye Brow
Much like doing your taxes or replacing a light bulb, there’s a right and wrong way to fill in your eyebrows. Professional makeup artist, Amanda De Roy, shares her expert tips in filling in brows not too much, not too little, but just right.
Tap
One super simple makeup tip that can be applied across the board is the ‘tap.’ Tapping your brush gently with your finger, before applying any makeup, will get rid of excess powder, ensuring for cleaner, subtler application.
Outline
Starting at the bottom of the brow line, use your brush to create a soft outline of the brow. Once you’ve created your outline, fill in the brows in an upward, sweeping motion, following the natural direction of hair growth.
Match
One rookie mistake to avoid when filling in your brows is filling in one more than the other. To ensure even results, perform each step on one brow, then to the other, before moving onto the next step.
Define
Brow gel is a powerful tool at a professional makeup artist’s disposal, as it acts as a hairspray of sorts for your brows. Use brow gel to shape the brows and to ensure the pigment stays on.
Tidy
Finally, to clean up any excess makeup and reinforce the shape of your brows, apply concealer sparingly, where necessary.
