Pro Advice: Designing a Kitchen
Today on The Marc and Mandy Show: Expert Q&A, Kenny Gemmill of the HGTV show Love it or List it gives great advice for designing a kitchen.
Q: As a contractor, should you design a kitchen for your own tastes or for potential buyers?
Kenny Gemmill: For my own taste, I would actually just a hire a designer, because they can put my tastes onto a palette and create something that looks great while still representing my own style. For potential buyers—if you’re renovating a kitchen for instance—I always think about resale value, but generally not everybody is going to think that. A kitchen should not be generic, it should be sort of custom, so hire somebody to help you through it.
