Thermador Steam Oven

In this segment of The Marc and Mandy Show, Dylan Wiens from Wiens Furniture shows Marc how the Thermador steam oven works.

Marc: Today, we are shopping for appliances. And we’re here with Dylan from Wiens Furniture and appliances. Dylan, you have an amazing appliance and it’s a steam oven. So, we’ve all heard of steam, but it’s something new, so what does that mean? 

Dylan Wiens: All right, well, here we have a Thermador steam combination oven. And it’s really neat. In fact, what we have here is basically three ovens in one. So what this thing does, it’ll steam, and that’s what we’re doing right now actually. We’ve got a little bit of steam. We’ve actually got rice asparagus and salmon going at the same time in this guy. 

Marc: So, that’s a little bit you know tricky right? If you’re cooking seafood, is there gonna be a flavour transfer of some sort?

Dylan Wiens: Well, that’s the beautiful thing about steam cooking, here’s no flavour transfer, which seems crazy. But the beautiful thing about this guy is it not only steams food it can also cook just like a regular oven. So, you can do cookies in here and you can do a turkey in here. In fact, using steam and regular conventional baking at the same time, it’ll do a 22 pound turkey in 90 minutes. So, not only that, but we’ve also got your conventional convection oven. We actually have a built-in rotisserie. It also comes with three racks. And so, if you wanna do three racks of cookies, have them baked beautifully, we can do that as well. 

Marc: And what does the little WI-FI sign there mean?

Dylan Wiens: The Thermador has the home connect app. So, you download that on your smart device and you’ve got access to recipes and wine pairings. They even have coffee systems, so you can pick your own beverages. And I have it loaded in there, so when you wake up you have your perfect cappuccino ready to go.
