Severe weather can have a detrimental and dangerous effect on our cars. Deflated tires

When the weather gets cold, you might notice that your tires lose pressure quicker and become deinflated. As such, during cold weather, you should check tire pressure frequently. Something even more preemptive you can do is invest in winter tires.

Dead battery

Much like cold weather is hard on our phone batteries, it can also be hard on your car battery. To be safe, keep jumper cables and a battery warmer in your car in case of emergency. You can also replace your batteries every three years to keep them from dying on you.

Thick oil

In cold weather, the oil in your car get thicker. Thick oil can be hard on your engine’s oil pump. To safeguard against this problem, consider switching to low-viscosity oil in the winter.

Ice in fuel lies

Finally, in cold weather, water moisture the gas line can become ice. If this happens, ice can end up blocking the gas line. One way to mitigate this is by keeping your gas tank on the full side–at least half full.
