Do you have eyeliner envy? Learn how to recreate the perfect winged eyeliner look with these expert-approved tips and tricks. The best part about this technique: all you’ll need is Scotch Tape and liquid eyeliner to master this über trendy look.
Step 1: Apply the Scotch Tape
Fasten a small piece of Scotch Tape on the side of the outermost side of the eye. To determine the placement, close your eye and use your lash line as a reference point.
Step 2: Apply Liquid Liner
Before even thinking about the winged portion of this look, you want to focus on the lash line, using the liquid liner to create a clean line as close to the lash line as possible. Apply the liner from the innermost side of the lash line, working your way outwards.
Step 3: Start Your Wing
Continuing in a lateral motion working outwards, you now want to begin to shape your wing, using the tape as a guide of sorts. Once you’re happy with your wing, and you’ve given the liner a little time to dry, you can gently remove the tape.
Step 4: Apply Concealer
To clean up the wing, (if needed), you can use a small brush and concealer. Apply concealer around the eye, including directly above and below your wing, to really cement the look. Again, allow the liner and concealer proper time to dry before applying any further makeup, such as eye primer, eye shadow, or false eyelashes.
