Allergy Panic
Whether your child’s allergies are seasonal or one-off, the symptoms can be debilitating and worrisome. In this episode of The Marc and Mandy Show, Marc and Mandy tell the tale of their two-year-old visiting the doctor. Check out the video above to find out more or keep reading for some tips for dealing with children’s allergies.
Avoid known allergens
The best way to deal with allergy symptoms is by preventing them from happening in the first place. If you know what your child’s allergies are, do your best to avoid them. For instance, if you’re dealing with a pollen allergy, keep them indoors during peak pollen times, such as mid-morning, early evening, and on windy days.
Consider the state of your indoor air
Dry air can sometimes be aggravating for kids with allergies. To offset the dryness, consider investing in a humidifier. Keeping the temperature cool inside your home could also help ease allergy symptoms.
Watch out for other sensitivities
If your child has one allergy, there’s a good possibility they may have another. For instance, an allergy to ragweed could be linked to certain foods, such as bananas, melons, chamomile tea, sunflower seeds, and cucumbers.
