Covering Up Red Skin
If you’re one of the many struggling with uneven splotches of persistent red skin, (otherwise known as rosacea), this episode of the Marc & Mandy show is for you! Our expert makeup artist takes us through her swift three-step routine for concealing red skin.
Step 1: Apply Color Corrector
Your first step in cancelling out any redness, is to refer to the color wheel. Green sits opposite red on the color wheel, and the complimentary color, in the form of a color correcting cream, can do wonders for the appearance of red skin. Using a makeup brush, apply a green color corrector in an ‘X’ motion, creating a smooth and even base for concealer and foundation.
Step 2: Apply Flesh-toned Concealer
Apply flesh-toned concealer directly on top of the color corrector, using short strokes to apply the makeup and blend it into the skin. If you’re not sure what type of concealer you need, use your décolletage area as a reference point.
Step 3: Proceed With Your Regularly Scheduled Makeup Routine
Once you’ve applied your flesh-toned concealer evenly, there shouldn’t be any visible redness remaining, and you can apply further makeup directly on top of the two primer layers.
