Expert Q&A: Autobody Repair
When it comes to your car, there are a myriad of things that can wrong. If you’ve ever found yourself puzzling over car repair questions, you’ve come to the right place. In this episode of The Marc and Mandy Show: Ask An Expert, Franco Borrelli from Hallmark Autobody answers questions about autobody repairs and quotes.
Q: When I bring my car in for autobody work, how will I know if the parts utilized will be new, used, or aftermarket?
Franco Borrelli: Once the estimate has been completed by the body shop and approved by the insurance company, the approved copy will be sent back to the autobody shop. On that estimate will be a list of itemized parts for you to have a look at. You can simply look at the estimate and find out if the parts will be new, used, or aftermarket.
Q: After the repair is done, will my vehicle look like new again?
Franco Borrelli: The answer is a simple yes. As long as the collision repair shop has the proper equipment and the proper training, and if that shop uses OEM repair procedures, then your vehicle will look like new again.
Q: Before any work begins, are you able to provide a detailed estimate of the potential repair?
Franco Borrelli: Yes, we can provide detailed estimates. But keep in mind, the true cost of that repair usually won’t be known until that vehicle is in the shop and dissembled.
