A Kid-friendly Environment
In the living room, Gillian wanted to focus on creating an environment that was kid-friendly and suitable for everybody. The living room features two oversized sofas with slipcovers, so that the client can easily remove and wash the covers if need be.
Textural Elements
To lighten up the solidity of the navy blue sofas, Gillian has opted for some fun and textured throw pillows. Since there’s already a lot of blue in the living room, Gillian opted for a contrasting coffee table in a dark wood. The coffee table is a wood grain, which adds some texture as well.
Dhurrie Rug
To tie the whole space together, Gillian has utilized a Dhurrie rug in a washed blue. A Dhurrie rug is a type of flat-woven rug design, which is native to India and its surrounding regions, Burma, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
